Please do keep us informed regarding the work day in Shreveport. If possible, I would love to come and help. I am working on that list of found roses that the Texas Rose Rustlers were involved with for you. I am waiting for some email responses to compile as comprehensive a list as possible for you. |

the drive to Tyler was very worth it, especially for the cake! and the cutting demo, too. We had a very constructive visit to Shreveport, we're making plans for a planting party sometime later this autumn (late Nov or in Dec) |

I think this must have been a wonderful week for all of you fortunate enough to have been there! Stephen, Ron, Gregg, and Betty, thank you all for taking time to drive over to Tyler on Saturday! It was so nice to see each of you, if only for a little while! I hope your trip over to Shreveport was safe, and that you avoided the downpours we have had here today! 10" of rain today in the Houston area! |

It was fantastic - we missed you but we had a great time. Several committees were formed by Stephen and all of us can help accomplish our objectives by selecting at least one to join. The board members each volunteered for at least one committee and need your input and help. Committees are: Fundraising, Publicity, Membership, Garden Schemes (for a North American trust of selected essential collections), Gardens (for Shreveport and Chambersville), Library, Publications, Website, Classifications, HelpMeFind, and last, Workshops, Seminars and Events. There's so much to share. I'm still transcribing notes - what a thrill to be there. Here are a couple of photos from the Chambersville garden and the big auction (where Stephen auctioned off his garden gloves, pruning shirt and favorite old sweater). Carol and Dean Oswald, on whose ranch we have the Chambersville collection, won the Mike Shoup rose that will be marketed by ARE and carry whatever name the Oswalds select. That rose alone raised $5,000 for the foundation. Photos coming. |

Was it a lot of fun? Were the topics of discussion interesting and informative? Did you learn anything special? Did you get to see and visit with old friends? What else? Tell all, please! |
