We found this Moss on an old abandoned farm in Michigan. I was ID'ed as "Jeanne de Montfort" but I still wonder since this rose is a good 8-10 feet tall. I have yet to find a Moss described as being that tall including JdM. It is cane hardy in Zone 5, upright stiff canes, pink and a very fragrant once bloomer. Got any ideas?

www.helpmefind.com describes Jeanne de Montfort as follows: Medium pink [ARS mp] blooms. Strong fragrance. Large, flat, semi-double bloom form. Repeats its bloom again later in the season. Habit: Height of 6' to 8' (185 to 245 cm). Width of up to 5' . (up to 150 cm) Growth can vary with climate so you are possibly correct. David Elliott |

Our local rose web site "everyrose.com" says 'summer flowering. Peter Beales 'Classic roses' does not say if it either repeats on not, but does say 'one of the tallest Moss roses'. Botanica's Pocket roses says 'will sometimes oblige with a repeat-flowering in autumn'. Descriptions in all three seem to match. |
